What are cookies?
Cookies are tiny text files stored on your browser or device by websites you visit. They help the website remember who you are and your preferences to make your next visit easier.
How Pickmemaybe.com uses cookies
I use cookies to make your experience on my blog as smooth as possible. Here is how:
- Comment Cookies: If you leave a comment on my blog, you can choose to save your name and email address in cookies. This is for your convenience so you don’t have to fill in your details every time you want to say hi! These cookies stay for one year.
- Login Cookies: If you have an account and log in to this site, I set a temporary cookie to see if your browser accepts them. When you log in, I also set up cookies to save your login info and your screen display choices.
- Login cookies last for two days.
- Screen option cookies last for one year.
- If you select “Remember Me”, your login stays for two weeks.
- Article Editing: If you help me edit or publish a post, an extra cookie is saved in your browser just to show which post you edited. It expires after 1 day.
Third-Party Cookies
Sometimes I embed content from other places (like a YouTube video of the Aussie outback or a map of the NT). These external sites may drop their own cookies to track how you interact with their content. I don’t have control over these, but they behave just like they would if you visited their sites directly.
Your Choices
You are in control! Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies in your settings. However, please note that if you disable cookies, some parts of pickmemaybe.com might not work perfectly (like having to type your name every single time you comment).
